Farmers’ Week 2014 Jingle Contest

The Department of Agriculture is inviting all interested, amateur song writers and residents of the Virgin Islands to compete in the first Farmers’ Week Jingle Contest. Submitted jingles must showcase unique and memorable lyrics which promote Farmers’ Week 2014 and “Youth in Agriculture.”

Residents from any age group are allowed to enter. Rules include:

  • Persons may only submit one entry at a time;
  • Entries must be 30 to 90 seconds in length
  • Entries should fall in the genre of Soca, Calypso, Fungi or other cultural music;
  • Entries must be original

To submit an entry, please deliver via CD to the Department of Agriculture or email file to with the subject “Farmers’ Week Jingle 2014” by December 31, 2013.

The winner will be announced during Farmer’s Week 2014 and the winning entry will be featured in the Farmer’s Week 2014 promotions. For guidelines and other necessary information please call 495-2110 or e-mail The public is asked to show full support and participation.
