Role Summary

The successful applicant will plan, coordinate and direct training and staff development programs for the organisation to achieve the department’s objectives in an efficient and effective manner.

Main Responsibilities

1. Conduct needs analysis studies periodically and confer with management to determine training needs.
2. Develop and deliver a quality instructional program to improve the level of computer literacy within the BVI Government. This includes:
a. Assisting with evaluating software and developing new technology, policies, protocols and procedures
b. Organising and developing training manual, testing and evaluation procedures, multimedia visual aide and   other educational materials
c. Training assigned instructors and supervisory personnel in effective techniques for training and changes in policies, procedures and guidelines
3. Maintain records and prepare statistical reports on a periodic basis to evaluate performance of instructors and monitor the progress of trainees.
4. Compile data and analyse past and current year training requirements to prepare budgets and justify funds requested in order that the department does not exceed its allocated expenditure.
5. Perform any other related duties as required by Supervisor or any other senior officer in order to contribute to the effectiveness and efficiency of the department.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related area
Three (3) years’ experience in a related area
Certificate in Microsoft MOUS
Sound knowledge of Government structure, policies and procedures
Sound knowledge of computer systems and applications
Sound knowledge of relevant computer software applications
Good knowledge of the use of standard office equipment
Good interpersonal and organisational skills
Sound analytical and decision-making skills
Good oral and written communication skills
Ability to work well under pressure
