Role Summary

The successful applicant will perform court related clerical duties in an efficient and competent manner to ensure a professional customer service is provided.

Main Responsibilities

1. Prepare Court lists for the Magistrates and ensure that the necessary files listed for hearings are properly routed to Magistrates to facilitate Court preparation.
2. Assist in the scheduling of hearings, trails, continuances and other matters.
3. Attend court sittings and accurately record minutes of court proceedings.
4. Assist with the management of incoming files and response to queries in a professional and timely manner.
5. Prepare and maintain various court records, files, indexes and maintain the integrity of the same.
6. Retrieve files and ensure that all related correspondences are placed on the relevant files chronologically and returned upon completion.
7. Assist the general public in filling out forms and review forms and records for accuracy and adherence to established procedures.
8. Prepare remand and warrant documentations. 
9. Perform the duties of Coroners Clerk as needed.
10. Perform any other related duties as required by Supervisor or any other senior officer in order to contribute to effectiveness and efficiency of the Ministry/Department.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Business Management or related field
Three (3) years’ experience in a related area
Ability to maintain strict levels of confidentiality and demonstrate values and principles of integrity
Sound knowledge of Government structure, policies and procedures
Sound knowledge of the use of standard office equipment and computer applications
Sound organisational and time management skills
Sound oral and written communication skills
Sound interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a team player
Ability to work well under pressure
Ability to adapt to challenging work environments
Ability to work with minimum supervision
