The Department of Trade and Consumer Affairs is informing the public that on Monday January 19, its cashier’s office will open at 10:00 a.m. and not the usual 9:00 a.m.
The public is invited to join the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Territory’s secondary schools as they host the 2014-2015 Inter-Secondary Schools Semi-Finals Debate.

The Planning Authority is inviting the public to a meeting to discuss a Planning Application submitted for the development of a hotel, marina, and residential buildings at Havers, Tortola.
The Department of Agriculture is inviting the public to the Official Opening Ceremony for Farmers’ Week, on Friday February 6, 2015, 10:00 a.m., at its main office in Paraquita Bay. The public is also invited to attend and support all exhibitions, special events and activities slated for Farmers’ Week 2015.

Minister for Education and Culture Honourable Myron V. Walwyn is informing the community of Virgin Gorda that he will hold office hours on the sister island on Wednesday, January 14 at the Vanterpool Administration Building from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
To schedule an appointment, residents are asked to contact the Ministry of Education and Culture at 468-3701 ext. 2151.

The Government of the Virgin Islands is advising residents of the Virgin Gorda community that Premier and Minister of Finance Dr. the Honourable D. Orlando Smith, OBE will hold office hours every first and third Monday at the Virgin Gorda Administration Complex, Vanterpool Building.
Persons wishing to meet with Premier Smith can walk in from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Alternatively, appointments can be made by telephoning 468-0826 or 468- 2152, or by contacting the Virgin Gorda District Office.

The Town and Country Planning Department is inviting the public to a community meeting on a Planning Application submitted for the development of a sports center for the East End and Long Look communities. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 21 at 6:30 p.m. at the East End/Long Look Community Centre. Copies of the plans are available for review at the offices of the Town and Country Planning Department, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Ministry of Health and Social Development is notifying all Nurses, Midwives and Nursing Assistants working in the Territory that registration for the year 2015 is now due. Registration can be completed at the Ministry of Health and Social Development located in the Betteto Frett Building on the second floor. Persons who have already registered can collect their cards at the reception desk.
The Department of Agriculture is encouraging all parents and children of elementary schools in the Virgin Islands to participate in the Territory’s annual Farmer’s Week Poster Competition. Entries should be inspired by and reflect ideas that are derived from the theme; "Youth in Agriculture - a Must! Food Security and Cultural Sustainability – a Plus!" The deadline for submission of entries is slated for Thursday, January 29.
