The British Virgin Islands (BVI) will be represented at the 2015 Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) annual conference to be held in New Orleans, Louisiana from the April 26 to April 29.

The delegation will be led by Executive Director of BVI Finance, Mr.Kedrick Malone and will be comprised of individuals from BVI Finance, BVI Tourist Board, the Financial Services Commission as well as the private sector.

 Mr. Malone stated that the main goal of attending this year’s conference is the opportunity to create linkages with management firms, brokers, and captive owners who have been identified as key players in the industry.,

Mr. Malone added, “Potential clients will have the chance to meet with the BVI’s regulators, service providers, and leadership team, including Director of Insurance, Mr. Stanley Dawson, to learn about the legislative enhancements and the seamless approach to forming a captive in the BVI.”

The BVI will also be sharing details of its new legislative changes at its booth as a pioneering, innovative and leading jurisdiction in global business solutions.

The BVI’s booth will display information on tourism products and financial services, with an emphasis on captive insurance business.  Visitors will engage in interactive games, and view videos of the Territory. Special prizes will also be tailored to attract patrons to either visit the BVI, or engage with the BVI for business.

 Visitors will have an opportunity to enter to win one of many prizes which include a complimentary three night stay at Scrub Island Resort inclusive of breakfast for two; a complimentary wine dinner for two on Peter Island Resort; a complimentary one day sail; locally made wines, and rums.

The RIMS conference has been a major insurance conference for the BVI for over 15 years and has been noted for its significant impact on the industry.
