Greetings all: It is likely that Tropical Storm Karen will deposit lots of rain and cause flash floods throughout the territory. 

Just came from visiting some of the sites where our hard-working crews were preparing for the approach of Tropical Storm Karen.

Thank you for your patience as the forecasting community, the Department of Disaster Management, the Acting Governor and I work diligently to decipher the conflicting signals emanating from the dynamically changing system that is Tropical Depression Karen.

Good evening to all the people of the Virgin Islands. As you are aware, the Territory and our neighbours in the USVI and Puerto Rico remain under a tropical storm warning.

Good day and God’s blessings to all the people of the Virgin Islands.  As you would have already heard from His Excellency the Acting Governor Mr. David Archer, the Territory is now under a Tropical Storm Warning, which means that we expect Tropical Storm Karen will bring some tropical storm conditions to our shores within the next 36 hours.

I hope that you have found some time over the course of the weekend to not only ensure that you have done what is needed to increase your preparedness levels but to also rest and rejuvenate, because we begin this week facing the approach of Tropical Storm Karen.
