The BVI Airports Authority announces the phased approach closure of the Territory’s airports, today, Wednesday, 28 August 2019, due to the passage of Tropical Storm Dorian.
At 5:00 a.m., the centre of Tropical Storm Dorian was located near latitude 16.8 North, longitude 63.9 West. Dorian is moving toward the northwest near 13 mph, and this general motion is expected to continue during the next few days.
Like many of you, I have been watching the progress of Tropical Storm Dorian over the last few days. At the moment, the storm is located east of Barbados.

Persons in the British Virgin Islands should continue to monitor the progress of Tropical Storm Dorian and be ready to respond to any watches or warnings that may be issued.
