The Government of the Virgin Islands is working on the development of a comprehensive policy and implementation strategy to address the current influx and potential future influxes of Sargassum.

World Environment Day was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1972, and first celebrated in 1973. The Ministry of Finance and the Project Support Service Unit are advising residents of the Carrot Bay community and surrounding areas that work on the Carrot Bay Jetty is progressing.
Residents of the Carrot Bay community will soon have access to an improved jetty, as part of a new docking facility when the project is completed later this year.
