Premier and Minister of Finance, Dr. the Honourable Natalio D. Wheatley, hosted a large gathering of dignitaries at a reception to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the BVI London Office.

The advocacy continues at COP27 in Sharm El-Sheik, Egypt.

As Minister, I continue to seek to solidify the BVI’s partnerships across various sectors.

I am honoured to extend greetings on behalf of the Government and people of the Virgin Islands, and to express our deep appreciation for the unwavering commitment of the United Nations to supporting Government-led efforts to build a more resilient Caribbean.

Premier and Minister of Finance Dr. the Honourable Natalio D. Wheatley will lead a delegation to the United States Virgin Islands  tomorrow September 22 for the Ninth Meeting of the Inter-Virgin Islands Council (IVIC). 

Premier and Minister of Finance Dr. the Honourable Natalio D. Wheatley is currently away from the Territory on an official visit to the United Kingdom (UK).

The 9th Meeting of the Council of Ministers, Environment Sustainability (COMES) was held in St Vincent and the Grenadines from 31st May to 2nd June 2022 at the Beach Combers Hotel Conference Rooms. Unfortunately, as it was my first month as Minister of Natural Resources & Labour I could not attend in person but had the opportunity to attend virtually and was honored to be present for my first meeting of this extent since receiving this ministerial portfolio.

The British Virgin Islands (BVI) financial services industry was lauded as the most successful in the Caribbean by Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) consultant, Dr. June Soomer.

Today was the final day of the UN Ocean Conference and it presented the opportunity for the Virgin Islands to join the discussion at the Global Island Partnership (GILSPA) Presentation. The event was titled: "Weathering Governance Uncertainty of Large-Scale Conservation Projects – A Leader Perspective to the Dialogue”.
