The British Virgin Islands will be well-represented at the most prestigious superyacht event in the world, the 2016 Monaco Yacht Show (MYS), to be held from September 28 to October 1, 2016.

The historical and cultural journey through the past was the focus of the 43^rd Anniversary of the USVI-BVI Friendship Day celebrations.

Premier and Minister of Finance, Dr. the Honourable D. Orlando Smith, OBE led a delegation to the recently held Inter Virgin Islands Council (IVIC)  meeting on September 2 in St. Thomas, where among other areas of the mutual interests, the two Governments discussed the cultural exchange of musicians.

The British Virgin Islands and United States Virgin Islands are making progress to strengthen ties in areas of mutual interest following the Seventh Meeting of the Inter Virgin Islands Council (IVIC) on September 2 in St. Thomas.

The British Virgin Islands and United States Virgin Islands will continue to strengthen ties as Premier and Minister of Finance of the British Virgin Islands, Dr. the Honourable D. Orlando Smith, OBE and the Governor of the United States Virgin Islands, Kenneth E. Mapp convene the seventh meeting of the Inter Virgin Islands Council (IVIC).  

Ladies and Gentlemen, as you are keenly aware, the people of the United Kingdom (UK) voted in a referendum on Thursday, June 23 for Britain to leave the European Union (EU) after 43 years of membership. 

BVI London Office Director and United Kingdom (UK) Representative Mr. Benito Wheatley was unanimously elected Chairman of the United Kingdom Overseas Territories Association (UKOTA) on behalf of the Government of the Virgin Islands on January 25.

Premier and Minister of Finance, Dr. the Honourable D. Orlando Smith, OBE strengthened relations with the United Kingdom (UK) Parliament during his official visit last week where he attended the annual Joint Ministerial Council and held meetings with BVI stakeholders.

It was a cultural journey from past Virgin Islands traditions to the present as the British Virgin Islands and United States Virgin Islands celebrated the 42^nd anniversary of BVI-USVI Friendship Day on Saturday, October 24, under the theme “The Greater Virgin Islands: The Identity and Ingenuity of Our People.”
