The Department of Waste Management is currently carrying out a beautification project across the Territory that has employed 225 youngsters between the ages of 11 and 17.
Twelve thousand gallons of waste oil is scheduled to be exported by the end of July as the Department of Waste Management continues its quest of achieving a cleaner, greener and more beautiful Virgin Islands.
The Department of Waste Management is accepting quotations for pest and insecticide materials for Pockwood Pond, Virgin Gorda and Anegada dumpsites for a period of 5 months.
The Government of the Virgin Islands invites tenders for managing of the Jost Van Dyke Transfer Station and providing hauling services for waste from Jost Van Dyke to the incinerator on Tortola.
The Department of Waste Management is set to relaunch its house to house garbage collection programme for a period of four months from 3rd June until 30th September. Director, Mr. Marcus Solomon said the pilot programme will service persons in portions of Tortola, Virgin Gorda and Jost Van Dyke. Mr. Solomon said, “The information that we will be collecting through this pilot programme will help to inform garbage collection strategies for the next three to four years.” He added, “We want to see if we can reduce the need for public bins, which can be seen as unsightly and a public health concern.”

The Department of Waste Management (DWM) is seeking a company to provide cleaning services to their Long Bush facility located in Boynes Warehouse.
The building comprises of two levels which includes two restrooms, a locker room, and the downstairs area. The second level includes one office and a conference room.
