Born in the British Virgin Islands, Maureen spent most of her formative years in the U.S. Virgin Islands. After finishing high school in the USVI, Maureen migrated to the USA, where she became interested in health and worked with a Naturopath. It was during this time she was able to see that changing her diet and lifestyle had a significant positive impact on some of the health issues she had been battling since a teenager. Maureen went on to become a registered nurse, subsequently gained her master’s degree in nursing and has served in the nursing profession for more than 30 years. Upon returning to the British Virgin Islands in 2003 and working in the BVI Health Service Authority in several capacities, she became aware of the prevalence of chronic diseases in the Territory. In addition to being a CHIP facilitator, Maureen is a certified health coach through the National Society for Health Coaches, and heads the health ministry at her church.
