Reconstruction of the West End Ferry Terminal

In September 2017, the British Virgin Islands (BVI) suffered extensive damage and widespread devastation from the passage of Hurricanes Irma and Maria. The West End Ferry Terminal, the ferry dock and ancillary facilities, located in Tortola were completely wiped out by those events and now require complete reconstruction.  Currently, a temporary installation is being used as the Ferry Terminal. The new project for the ferry terminal financed by the CDB RRL will incorporate disaster resilient features throughout the design. The new ferry terminal will be a ‘green’ building that reduces negative impacts on our climate and natural environment through the use of solar roof top panels, energy efficient lighting and water recycling.
