Members of Government and officials from the Airport Authority are captured as they witnessed the successful proving flight which is a test flight by American Airlines on 25th  May, in preparation for the inaugural passenger flight that is scheduled to land on 1st June. The American Airlines crew was greeted by government officials and gifted with tokens of appreciation from the BVI Tourist Board.

Members of Government present included Premier and Minster of Finance Dr. the Honourable Natalio D. Wheatley, Deputy Premier Honourable Lorna Smith OBE, Minister for Communications and Works Honourable Kye M. Rymer, Minister for Health and Social Development Honourable Vincent Wheatley, Minister for Education, Youth Affairs and Sports Honourable Sharie B. de Castro, Junior Minister for Culture and Tourism Honourable Luce Hodge-Smith, and Junior Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries Doctor the Honourable Karl Dawson.

Members of the Airport Authority that were present included Managing Director, Mr. Kurt Menal, Director of Finance, Mr. Elvis Harrigan, Director of Compliance Mrs. Lydia Rubaine-Sinclair, and other directors of the Board.
