Dr. the Honourable D. Orlando Smith OBE met with key Members of Parliament at the British Virgin Islands All Party Parliamentary Group (BVI APPG) lunch in the House of Commons on Thursday December 4.

The Premier updated APPG members on the Territory’s progress in the areas of tourism, healthcare and financial services.   The APPG Members and other Members of Parliament (MPs) and Lords offered insights on improving BVI-UK engagement. 

Attendees included, among others, BVI APPG Chair, Thomas Docherty MP and former Overseas Territories Ministers Henry Bellingham MP, Mark Simmonds MP and Baroness Scotland who also formerly served as UK Attorney General.

Premier Smith said, “It is always a great pleasure to update members of the BVI APPG and other parliamentarians. They provide excellent counsel on BVI-UK relations”.

The Premier was leading a delegation to the Joint Ministerial Council (JMC) in the UK where he met UK and Overseas Territories’ officials.
