The Department of Disaster Management (DDM) has added a new Information and Education Manager to its staff.

Ms. Chrystall Kanyuck-Abel recently joined the department and is responsible for building public awareness of hazards as well as assisting in the department’s mission to educate the Territory about the measures that should be adopted to cope with the impact from these hazards.

DDM’s Deputy Director, Dr. Evangeline Inniss-Springer said, “We are very happy to have Chrystall on the team, and we look forward to putting her skills to good use as we continue to provide information to the public to help them make decisions about their safety and personal resilience.”

Ms. Kanyuck-Abel holds a Master of Mass Communication from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University as well as a Bachelor of Arts, Communication from California State University, San Marcos and an Associate of Arts, Journalism from Palomar Community College.
