Students from the Wendell Potter Learning Centre, Venetta’s Day Care & Early Learning Centre and Simmonds Pre-school along with officers from the Conservation and Fisheries Department are pictured engaging in an interactive and informative educational presentation. The presentations were held on May 19 and emphasized aspects of turtle and turtle life such as; physique, habitat and diet along with their significance to the marine environment and Virgin Islands’ natural heritage. The school presentations were done in observance of World Turtle Day observed May 23.  World Turtle Day was observed to highlight the conservation of marine turtles in the Virgin Islands. Its legislation and enforcement efforts contribute to an effective long-term conservation strategy for the Territory.
