Her Majesty’s Customs and BVI Ports Authority will host a public auction of unclaimed goods on Saturday, March 27 at the BVI Ports Authority headquarters in Port Purcell at 9:00 a.m.

This auction is in accordance with the Customs Management and Duties Act No. 6 of 2010 Section 52 (8) which states that the duration of time goods can remain in a Custom’s Warehouse before removal is two months.  The auction is sanctioned under Section 137 of the same legislation.

The importers of these unclaimed goods are advised to have them cleared by Friday, March 26. A bill of lading, invoice or any other relevant documentation must be provided before goods are cleared.  In addition, shipping fees or any other incidentals must be paid to the shipper of goods before Her Majesty’s Customs will allow clearance.  Perishable goods listed will not be auctioned, but disposed of due to the duration of time at the ports.

A copy of this list with all goods and importers’ names is available for viewing at Her Majesty’s Customs stations in Road Town, Port Purcell, West End, Beef Island, Virgin Gorda and the Headquarters.
