Office of the Deputy Governor
Civil Registry and Passport Office
Release Date:
Tuesday, 26 September 2023 - 4:31pm

The Civil Registry and Passport Office is notifying the public that the department has resumed issuing Belonger Cards to eligible persons.

The disruption in the issuance of cards was due to a system-centred issue that was diagnosed and resolved by the Department of Information Technology.

Registrar General, Mrs. Tashi O’Flaherty-Maduro said, “We are pleased to now be able to provide a full complement of services. Thanks to the work of the Department of Information Technology, we can once again continue processing and printing Belonger Cards for persons deemed to belong to the Virgin Islands. I thank the public for its patience, and we apologise for any inconvenience this interruption may have caused.

Persons can contact the department to secure an appointment to renew or apply for their new Belongers Card at 468-3035 or email infocris@gov.vg.
