Tropical Storm Karen is moving away from us and I am happy that we find ourselves in this wonderful position where we can get back to a state of normalcy. Thanks be to God!

I want to thank all the hard working teams from across the Government who came together to form the NEOC to make a difference. I believe that together we can always achieve more. Essential to all of this was information and public relations. I thank all the Permanent Secretaries and Head of Departments for their leadership in making sure that information was forthcoming to the brain operations of the NEOC so that information could be shared with the public.

I thank the DDM and GIS team led by the Chief Information Officer Ms. Desiree Smith for not only your creativity in simplifying the messages to make them digestible, but for your strong and unwavering support to the NEOC in getting the information to the public in record time. We all know that timely information is the key to preparedness and I know that the public appreciates this, and I appreciate this as well as we look forward to this continued vigor as we keep the public informed.

So, well done to all teams for another successful navigation through the storm. I know that we are not yet out of the track of the Atlantic Hurricane Season, but with the help of a God we can remain strong taking one step at a time. My gratitude is to all of you.

Thanks be to God and please remain safe.

Best Regards,

Honourable Andrew A. Fahie

Premier and Minister of Finance
