A new procedure to process Executive Work Permits will take effect from Monday, September 3.

To qualify for the Executive Work Permit Programme a person should be making or expect to make an annual salary of $100,000.00 and above. This initiative will be facilitated at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Labour

Minister for Natural Resources and Labour, Dr. the Honourable Kedrick D. Pickering said, “This new process is a part of the Ministry’s overall initiative to transform its Departments in a fashion that allows for better service, and makes up a part of the Labour Department’s transition to electronic processing which will ultimately simplify and shorten the waiting period for processing of work permits, not only for business executives, but for all work permit holders.”

An executive can utilize this process, once receiving the qualifying annual salary, by submitting a completed Work Permit Application with all the required documents via email to ewp@gov.vg . All payments should be made by cheque at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Labour.

Applicants are to note that all Immigration requirements are to be met before an application can be considered.

The timeline for processing completed Executive Work Permits, inclusive of Immigration processes, are as follows:

  • New Work Permits, Change of Employer and Periodic Work Permits - 12 business days
  • Work Permit Renewals - 5 business days
  • Temporary Work Permits – 2 business days

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Labour will continue to do its part to assist the working public and seeks the cooperation of employers to ensure there is a smooth execution of this process.
