Premier and Minister of Finance Honourable Andrew A. Fahie announced that the next phase of the internal reopening of economy is May 10.

Premier Fahie said that Cabinet on May 4 made the decision that the next phase of internal reopening for the economy will start on Sunday, May 10 where a Curfew will be imposed from the hours of 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. daily.

The Premier said, “We decided that all Cabinet approved businesses will be able to operate between the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. under the new Imposition of the Curfew Order which would also commence on Sunday, May 10 for 14 days.”

He added, “Our decision as Cabinet Ministers and as a Government is hinged on the aggressive contact tracing by Public Health Officials to identify and address every possible risk.”

The Premier thanked the team for remaining committed to the task at hand in keeping the BVI healthy and safe, adding, “I thank all for practicing social distancing, for remaining in quarantine as directed and for doing the things that will keep all of us safe.”
