Works have begun on the Virgin Gorda Medical Centre Project since breaking ground on March 30, 2015. Minister for Health and Social Development, Honourable Ronnie W. Skelton said during the ceremony that building the medical facility was a very big step towards a world-class healthcare system for the people of the Virgin Islands. The medical facility will provide a wide range of services to the Virgin Gorda community that will reduce the need to leave the island for medical care. The facility is considered a vital component of Government’s health infrastructure development programme which seeks to ensure that all residents have access to the highest standard of health care available.
