The Government of the Virgin Islands is seeking the services of a suitable locally based insurance company to provide insurance for the House of Assembly. 

The plan should include (but not be limited to) benefits including:

coverage of pre-existing conditions; major medical insurance; worldwide 24 hours a day coverage; customer service call centre with 24 hour access; local office/agent; substantial term life insurance for insured and dependents (to include accidental death and dismemberment benefits); disability insurance, including loss of limbs and/or eyes; maximum out-of-pocket.

Additionally, the plan should offer a preferred provider network (British Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, United States Virgin Islands, Caribbean, United Kingdom, South America, United States Of  America and Canada), and network information must be accessible via internet and regularly updated.

Procurement Coordinator, said eligible tenderers are required to submit a valid insurance licence issued pursuant to the Insurance Act 2008, a Trade Licence that covers the specific type of service detailed in this request for proposal and Certificates of Good Standing in respect of the Social Security and Taxes including Payroll and Property Tax from BVI Social Security Board, National Health Insurance, Inland Revenue.

Bidding documents are available from Tuesday, May 25, 2021 and will be sent to bidders electronically upon request to procurement@gov.vg with the subject title “Tender for Group Health Insurance Plan for the House of Assembly”.

Interested tenderers should submit one (1) original, three (3) copies and one (1) flash drive containing the bidder’s documents. The original bid should be placed in a sealed envelope and marked “ORIGINAL” and the additional copies placed in another sealed envelope and marked “COPIES”. Both envelopes should then be placed in an outer envelope and marked Tender for Group Health Insurance Plan for the House of Assembly and addressed to:

All tenders must be deposited no later than 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 in the Tender Box at the Ministry of Finance (Procurement Unit), Qwomar Trading Building #2. Tenders will not be received after the Tender Box is closed.

A virtual pre-tender meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. via WebEx.  All prospective tenderers will be notified of the access code and password prior to the meeting. 

Tenders will be opened at the Procurement Unit, Ministry of Finance, Qwomar Trading Bldg. #2, 2nd Floor at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 and tenderers are invited to witness this process via WebEx. Tenderers will be provided with the access code and password prior to the opening.
