The Government of the Virgin Islands is inviting tenders for the construction of a New Social Home at White Bay, Jost Van Dyke, British Virgin Islands.

Procurement Coordinator, Mrs. Ishma Rhymer said the proposed works comprise of: furnishing all plant, labor, equipment and materials and performing all operations in connection with the construction of the home in White Bay, in accordance with the aforementioned drawings and specifications. 

 “Eligible tenderers are required to submit a valid trade licence, Certificates of Good Standing from the Social Security Board, National Health Insurance, Inland Revenue and the Commercial Registry as well as a detailed work programme showing the order in which the various sections of works are to be executed,” Mrs. Ishma Rhymer said.

Tenderers are also required to submit the rates of progress and the estimated periods of time for their execution and completion and other documents as outlined in the Tender Document including a Tender Bond/Tender Security, not less than 1% of the bid price, by way of a Bank or accredited Insurance Company.

Bidding documents are available from Monday, June 22 and would be sent to bidders electronically upon request to procurement@gov.vg with the subject title “Construction of the New Social Home, White Bay, Jost Van Dyke.”

Interested tenderers should submit (1) original and three (3) copies, plus  one (1) soft copy (flash drive) in sealed envelopes marked, “Original” and the additional copies placed in another sealed envelope marked “Copies”.  Both envelopes should then be placed in the Tender Box in an outer envelope marked “Construction of the New Social Home, White Bay, Jost Van Dyke”  and must be received no later than 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 21 and addressed to:

A Pre-Tender meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, July 1, at 10:00 a.m. at Foxy’s Restaurant, Great Harbour, Jost Van Dyke. This will be followed by a site visit. All prospective tenderers are invited to attend.

Tenders will be opened at the Procurement Unit, Ministry of Finance, Qwomar Trading Building #2, 2nd Floor at 11:30 a.m. on, Tuesday, July 21.  All prospective Tenderers are invited to witness this process via “Webex” and will be provided with the access code and password prior to the opening.
