Owners of small businesses in the Territory are invited to a Small and Medium Enterprises Innovation Consultation on Tuesday, December 8.

 The Caribbean Overseas Small and Medium Enterprises (COSME) programme is facilitating the meeting which will be held in MA1 at the HLSCC Marine Centre from 10:00 a.m. to noon.  COSME Key Expert/Stenbeis Team Leader, Mr. Michael Seepersaud will conduct the exercise.

The proposed consultation falls under Component C of the COSME programme, the purpose of which is to “Strengthen Regional Collaboration among Caribbean OCTs and CARIFORUM”.  The consultation will explore innovative businesses and innovative business opportunities; niche markets; SME training and technical assistance needs; barriers to trade, both locally, regionally and internationally, as well as other issues of importance to the sector.

The overall objective is to identify priority sectors and business opportunities consistent with national trade and investment policy, and also with the COSME mandate of innovation and niche marketing, identifying trade issues and discussing opportunities for wider collaboration in the Overseas Countries and Territories (OCTs), and the wider Caribbean.

The COSME Programme seeks to contribute to the economic diversification and prosperity of Caribbean Overseas Countries and Territories (OCTs) by improving the competitiveness of SMEs in the Territories.
