The Department of Trade, Investment Promotion and Consumer Affairs will be sponsoring five booths at the 2016 CCT Buy BVI Trade Expo.

This move comes as the department continues to promote and assist small businesses in the British Virgin Islands, fuel the entrepreneurial spirit throughout the business community.

Small businesses interested in participating in the expo to build their brand and create unforgettable consumer experiences, while showcasing their products and services are invited to contact the Department of Trade, Investment Promotions and Consumer Affairs at bvitrade@gov.vg or 468-2008.

Director, Mrs. Karia Christopher said she was pleased with the response and the level of professionalism shown by the businesses that participated in last year’s trade show.

Mrs. Christopher said, “The BVI small business community exudes vibrant individuals who are working tirelessly to provide our community with exceptional products and services and the Department will continue to partner with organisations such as the BVI Chamber of Commerce and Hotel Association to ensure that small businesses get exposure.”

The Annual CCT Buy BVI Trade Show is hosted by the BVI Chamber of Commerce and Hotel Association and will be held at the Multipurpose Sports Complex on April 16 and 17 under the theme ‘The BVI’s Best for 2016”. The expo opens on Saturday, April 16 from 10:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and continues on Sunday, April 17 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The event will showcase an array of products and services available locally. It is designed to encourage the expansion of trade within the community, and reduce the level of imported products while highlighting unique business opportunities in the local economy.  

The Department of Trade, Investment Promotion and Consumer Affairs is responsible for facilitating the development and growth of the BVI business environment, by helping businesses to realise their full potential. This is done through the establishment and management of programmes and networks that provide information, education, training, finance and other assistance in order to foster sustained economic development in the BVI.
