Tuesday, 6th September 2022 marks the 5th Anniversary of the landfall of Hurricane Irma on the Virgin Islands and the Government is inviting the community to join in reflecting and looking ahead as the day is observed.

There will be various sorts of reflections comprised of videos, interviews, statements, reflective quotes from leaders and reflections from a cross section of the Virgin Islands community.

Community involvement is invited via social media where persons are encouraged throughout the day to finish the sentence: “HURRICANE IRMA 2017 TAUGHT ME…”, and hashtag: #Irmalessons, #Irmareflection and #Irma2017taughtme. Persons can also submit their reflection on Hurricane Irma to be shared on Government’s Facebook page via email at gis@gov.vg or telephone 468-2730.
