March 8 is being celebrated as International Women’s Day under the theme “DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality.

The theme this year aims to recognise and celebrate the contribution women and girls are making to technology and online education.

Purple, green and white are the colours of International Women's Day. Purple signifies justice, dignity and being loyal to the cause. Green symbolizes hope and white represents purity. The colours originated from the Women's Social and Political Union (WSPU) in the UK in 1908.

For International Women’s Day tomorrow, wear Purple, Green or White in solidarity with our women in the Virgin Islands
