The Labour Department is informing the public that commencing November 19, new work permit employees will be required to complete a mandatory orientation prior to issuance of the work permit card. 

The purpose of the orientation is to familiarise employees with the 2010 Labour Code and other matters related to employment in the Virgin Islands. Sessions for employees will be held on Thursdays and Fridays at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. at the Labour Department.

An orientation for employers will also be conducted.  Detailed information on the sessions for employers will be announced at a later date.
