Step 1:  Once a derelict vehicle has been identified by the Department on public property, a notice is served to the owner of the vehicle or affixed to the vehicle. For vehicles on private properties, a notice is served to the property owner or affixed to the vehicle.

Step 2:  The owners of vehicles on public land has fourteen (14) days to remove their vehicles.  The owners of vehicles on private land has twenty-one (21) days to remove their vehicles.

Step 3:  Once the notice expires, the Department will remove and dispose of vehicles that have not been removed.
