The Food Handlers Certificate is a legal requirement to ensure that persons engaged in the food industry are medically fit and certified.

Process

Step 1:  Applicants who are renewing their Food Handlers Certificates, are required to attend the Food Handlers sessions.  Applicants must complete a medical examination before attending the sessions.

Step 2:  After the Food Handlers session is complete applicants will be given a brief quiz to test their knowledge.  Applicants must fill out the Food Handlers Registration form and then they will be issued a renewal certificate.

Additional Notes

Food Handlers sessions for applicants renewing their Food Handlers certificate are held every Thursday in the month except for the last Thursday. The sessions are held from 8:30 am to 10:30 am in the basement of the Quatisky Building in the Conservation and Fisheries Department Conference Room.
