During the Third Sitting of The Second Session of the Third House of Assembly of the Virgin Islands on Monday, December 19, Member of the Opposition Honourable Andrew Fahie cast aspersions about the public’s purse that was irresponsible.

My fellow BVIslanders and Residents:

As we begin the last month of the year, it is essential that I update you on the state our Territory, our economy and our public finances.

This is a time of challenge not just here in the BVI, but all around the world.

I have joined the Honourable Premier, Dr. D. Orlando Smith, on several occasions, as we completed negotiations with local contractors, through the Procurement Process, to carry out rehabilitation works to our roads and bridges infrastructure.

I acknowledge that the appropriate recognitions have already been made, and simply wish to say, a warm Virgin Islands good afternoon to one and all.

November is Tourism Month.

Established by UNESCO in 2001, World Science Day for Peace and Development is celebrated worldwide in November each year. It offers an opportunity to demonstrate to the wider public why science is relevant to our daily lives, and to draw attention to the ways in which science and technology can help to protect the environment and improve the quality of life for all. 

The appropriate recognitions have already been made, so it should be sufficient to say, good morning to everyone. As Minister for Education and Culture I want to extend a warm Virgin Islands welcome to our guests from the Caribbean Examination Council (CXC), and also to my fellow Caribbean brothers and sisters that through the advances of technology are watching this presentation live, as it is being streamed by CXC.
