BVI Finance, in collaboration with TEAM BVI Latin America, hosted a series of events in Latin America to promote the BVI as the premier offshore financial services jurisdiction and mark the return of the BVI Road Show. 

The Financial Services Implementation Unit (FSIU) is embarking on a population survey to gauge general perception of the financial services industry as part of the BVI Forward campaign.  

The BVI has highlighted the positive role of financial services and deepened its international cooperation with Latin America and the Caribbean at the 36th Session of the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (UN ECLAC).

As the Anti-Corruption Summit takes place in London today, the Territory is putting forward its proposal for a workable solution for global standards for beneficial ownership, which balances the need for both appropriate levels of privacy and transparency.

The Government of the Virgin Islands has announced the appointment of Mrs. Lorna Smith, OBE as the Interim Executive Director of BVI Finance with effect from May 11 to December 31.

This week, two events will take place with the potential to impact the financial services of the BVI and I wish to speak today about how the Government is approaching these two matters.

The British Virgin Islands (BVI) was unanimously elected as one of the Vice Chairs of the Caribbean Development Cooperation Committee (CDCC), a permanent subsidiary body for of the United Nations’ (UN) Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC).
