Madam Speaker, I rise today to update this Honourable House on a critical initiative in our national health agenda, namely, the official launch of The Virgin Islands Eat Well Guide and Dietary Guidelines.

Residents of the Virgin Islands are being reminded of the dangers associated with all forms of tobacco use, as the Territory observes No Tobacco Day on May 31.

The Environmental Health Division will be hosting four Food Handlers Training Courses in June.

The Ministry of Health and Social Development will be hosting a virtual pain management workshop next month in an effort to assist healthcare professionals and persons to reduce the effects of debilitating pain.

The Marine Safety Investigation and Reporting Authority (MSIRA), in the Premier’s Office, confirms that a single boating accident occurred on Sunday, 25th May, 2025, in Leverick Bay Marina, Virgin Gorda.  The single-vessel incident happened when a centre console powerboat, Anadanto, capsized, injuring all six individuals onboard the vessel.

The Premier’s Office hosted a critical Maritime Safety Meeting, bringing key stakeholders together to discuss the state of maritime safety in the Virgin Islands.
