I wish to update this honourable House on my participation in three recent virtual United Nations meetings that took place against the backdrop of COVID-19.

Premier and Minister of Finance, Honourable Andrew A. Fahie, has been elected on behalf of the British Virgin Islands (BVI) to serve as a Vice Chair of the Caribbean Development and Cooperation Committee (CDCC), a subsidiary body of the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC).

Today, Friday, August 14 is the State Funeral of the Late Former Prime Minister of Barbados - The Rt. Honourable Owen Seymour Arthur

Director of the National Parks Trust of the Virgin Islands, Dr. Cassander Titley-O’Neal presented on the topic “A Clean Ocean” at a Virtual Conference hosted by the UNESCO’s International Oceanographic Commission Facebook® page on April 28 and 29. 

Minister for Education, Culture, Youth Affairs, Fisheries and Agriculture, Dr. The Honourable Natalio D. Wheatley, is said to have had a successful tour of  several educational institutions in Hertfordshire and Essex Counties in the United Kingdom.

Mister Speaker, I would like to make this statement by way of an update on the French listing of BVI on its list of non-cooperative states and territories in tax matters.

Mister Speaker, as I continue to keep this Honourable House informed on the matters that affect these beautiful British Virgin Islands, I wish now to update this Honourable House on Brexit through the lens of our economy.

The leaders of both the British and US Virgin Islands discussed areas of shared interest and ways to enhance the relationship between the U.S. and the British Virgin Islands Tuesday in Road Town, Tortola during the 8th meeting of the Inter-Virgin Islands Council (IVIC).

Today is a signal honor for me to welcome the Governor of the United States Virgin Islands, the Honourable Albert Bryan Jr. and the members of his delegation to the British Virgin Islands for these important discussions.
