The Ministry of Health and Social Development is urging the public to remain vigilant, adhere to COVID public health protocols and take all necessary precautions during this festive season.

The Ministry of Health and Social Development is encouraging the community to do its part to reduce vulnerability to Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR).

The Government of the Virgin Islands announced via the Official Virgin Islands Gazette on 16 November, that fully vaccinated arrivals in the Territory are no longer required to test for COVID-19 upon arrival.  Travellers would have to produce a negative result for a RT-PCR or approved rapid antigen SARS CoV-2 test taken no later than 48 hours before arrival in the Territory. 

The Ministry of Health and Social Development has confirmed that positive cases of COVID-19 attended the:

• Fish Fete on Saturday, 13^th November, 2021 held on the Festival Grounds
• Phi Theta Kappa Honour Society Induction Ceremony on Monday, 15^th November, 2021 at the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College

Residents of the Virgin Islands are being challenged to “Go Sober for October” following the launch of a campaign to reduce the harmful use of alcohol Territory-wide.

The public is notified that 2000 doses of the COVID-19 AstraZeneca vaccine arrived into the Virgin Islands yesterday October 7 and will be ready for distribution at all vaccination centres on Monday, October 11.

Executive chefs, kitchen managers and supervisors are expected to benefit from a free three-day ServSafe Food Safety Protection Management Course hosted by the Ministry of Health and Social Development in collaboration with the Pan American Health Organization.

The public is notified that there are no COVID-19 Astrazeneca vaccines available in the Virgin Islands from Friday, October 1 to Thursday, October 7.

Owners and operators of night clubs are reminded that they are not to resume operations without meeting vaccination and inspection requirements.
