The Paraquita Bay area, celebrated for its fertile lands and abundant waters, has historically served as a cornerstone for the British Virgin Islands' agricultural and fisheries sectors.

Ladies and Gentlemen Good Afternoon, it is with immense joy and a profound sense of accomplishment that I stand before you today as we celebrate the opening of the Jost Van Dyke Primary School. 

The construction of the Elmore Stoutt High School (ESHS) under the ESHS Redevelopment project was completed and the school requires special kitchen equipment to facilitate its proper functioning. 

The Government of the Virgin Islands (GOVI) has received financing from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) in an amount equivalent to US$65,291,000 towards the cost of the CDB No. 12/SRF-OR-BVI: Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Loan – Hurricane Irma Project (the Project) and intends to apply a portion of the proceeds to eligible payments under this contract.  

It gives me great pleasure this morning to witness and be a part of this Contract signing and Groundbreaking ceremony for the Joint Marine Shore Base Building. We can all agree that this project is another one that is well overdue.

The Government of the Virgin Islands, through the Recovery and Development Agency (RDA), will be signing two contracts for the Redevelopment of the Elmore Stoutt High School campus tomorrow.

The public is informed that major road works continue on the Long Trench/Johnson’s Ghut Road Rehabilitation Project.

The United Kingdom through the Governor’s Office is stepping up its commitment to supporting a greener BVI.
