The 40^th Regional Conference of the Caribbean, Americas and the Atlantic Region of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) will be hosted in the Virgin Islands from July 25 to August 1 and includes a variety of parliamentary conferences including the 11^th Meeting of the Regional Youth Parliament.

I have had the pleasure of working on a number of initiatives in education and youth development - from youth employment, the development of our youth policy, the opening of a true technical secondary school, even the launch of our illustrious Territorial song and wear.  But graduands, there is one item that keeps evading me but I will work diligently to realise this before my second term in office ends - how can we get this graduation to last just 90 minutes.

The meeting, which was scheduled for Wednesday, June 17, will be held on Wednesday, June 24 at the Catholic Community Centre starting at 7:00 p.m.

The Ministry of Education and Culture and the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports will host a series of youth focused stakeholder’s meetings on the proposed Virgin Islands National Youth Policy and Strategic Framework documents next week.

The Ministry of Education and Culture and the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports invite persons who have an interest in youth development and sporting services to a series of stakeholder’s meetings being held during the month of June. 

The much anticipated Anthonie “Jeffery” Caines Sports Arena in Virgin Gorda was officially opened on May 27.

The Ministry of Education and Culture is informing the public that all public schools will be closed on Thursday, May 21 and Friday, May 22 in order to accommodate Teacher’s Professional Day and Midterm Break respectively.

The Department of Youth Affairs and Sports is inviting Virgin Islands’ youth between the ages of 15 to 29 to submit applications for the Virgin Islands Youth Parliament.
