Property owners in the Virgin Islands are reminded that Property Tax for the year 2022 is due and payable from September 1 to November 30.

The Property Tax list includes the name(s) of proprietor(s), property description, and the amount of tax due. The list, published in registration sections, can be viewed at various public buildings throughout the Territory, and the Inland Revenue Department offices on Tortola and Virgin Gorda, in addition to the District Offices on Anegada and Jost Van Dyke. The list can also be viewed online at bvi.gov.vg.

Any property owner on Virgin Gorda who is not in agreement with the tax assessed upon his/her property may object to their assessments before the Magistrate on Monday, August 29, at 10:00 a.m. at the Magistrate’s Court at the Valley, Virgin Gorda. Property owners on Tortola, Anegada, Jost Van Dyke and other locations within the VI may object to the assessment before the Magistrate on Tuesday, August 30 at 10:00 a.m. at the Magistrate’s Court at John’s Hole.

Property owners are encouraged to pay the 2022 Property Tax at this time to avoid interest being charged at twenty percent (20%) per annum. Owners should also pay or arrange a payment schedule with the Inland Revenue Department to liquidate any outstanding Property Tax. Legal transactions will not be processed for “Stamp Duty” purposes unless the tax relating to the parcel is paid.
