Caribbean Development Bank Loan Funded Projects Update

Madam Speaker, we are making significant progress with road rehabilitation work under the Caribbean Development Bank CDB Loan Funded Projects.

I refer to the Fifteen Million, Six Hundred Seventy Thousand Dollars ($15,670,000.00) approved by the CDB in March 2012, to carry out remedial works following infrastructural damage the Territory sustained in 2010, following the passage of Tropical Storm Otto.

To date, Madam Speaker, contracts with a total sum of Eight Million, One Hundred and Six Thousand, Three Hundred Twelve Dollars and Twenty-Six Cents ($8,106,312.26) have been signed, for Engineering Consultancy, Planning Regulations and Construction Works.

Madam Speaker, FDL Consult Inc’s contract was renewed for a period of 15 months with effect from January 22, 2016, for a sum of Two Hundred and Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($225,000.00).

The scope of works includes Engineering Consultancy and Project Management.

Madam Speaker, there are three (3) tender packages currently going through the National Competitive Bidding process via the standard local procurement procedures:

  1. Horse Path - Drainage Solution with Road Stabilization and Rehabilitation
  2. Hydrology Study - The Request For Proposals or RFP was evaluated and is awaiting Cabinet decision on the selection of consultants to provide bids.
  3. Lee Road, Virgin Gorda - Drainage Solution and Road Paving.

Madam Speaker, one project is in the final stages of the design phase, namely;

  1. Harrigan Estate - Slope Stabilization and Road Restoration.
