The Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) is seeking applicants for the 2018-2019 Examining Committees.

A CXC release states: “We are looking for professionals with passion, dedication and commitment to excellence and innovation who are interested in contributing to regional development whilst supplementing their income.”

Chief Examiner, Assistant Chief Examiners and Advisors for the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE), Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC), Caribbean Certificate of Secondary Level Competence (CCSLC) and Caribbean Primary Exit Assessment (CPEA) are the roles being advertised.

Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Education and Culture, and Deputy Chair of CXC Dr. Marcia Potter said, “I encourage all qualified persons to apply. CXC is an integral component of our education system so the Examining Committees are really doing substantial work for the Virgin Islands and wider Caribbean community.”

Applicants should possess a post graduate degree or equivalent professional qualification with a focus in the relevant subject area, be a national of a Caribbean country, but may be working in the Diaspora and must not be preparing candidates (in a private nor public institution) for examination in the particular area.

Successful persons  are required to be available for at least four days for a paper setting meeting each year, participate in the annual standardizing, marking and grading activities which are held during June to August and/or January, and previous lecturing, teaching experience is an asset.
