Extensive asphalt paving has resumed on the Territory’s roads as work continue to provide a safe, practical, efficient, economically and environmentally sound infrastructure.

Acting Director in the Public Works Department, Mr. Navarro Donovan said the works which commenced last year are in line with a list for areas identified to be addressed.

He said the current roadworks are a part of the long-term goals of the department and asphalt and roadwork repairs include the Blackburn Highway, portions of Waterfront Drive and the concrete roads on Anegada.

Mr. Donovan added that scheduled upcoming asphalt paving works include portions of Lower Estate; Blackburn Highway; Huntum’s Ghut; the Ridge Road; Jean Hill and Port Purcell.

Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Communications and Works, Mr. Jeremy Hodge recently said that the works are consistent with the mission of the ministry in ensuring the continued development and maintenance of the Territory’s public infrastructure.
