The Environmental Health Division is alerting the public that fogging will continue in the Slaney area today, November 29, and continue to Sea Cow’s Bay and West End.

Fogging is done between 5:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Persons with respiratory illnesses, particularly asthmatics, should leave the areas being fogged for at least an hour.

Residents are reminded that fogging will provide only temporary relief from mosquitoes. Householders and property owners must therefore be vigilant in preventing mosquitoes from breeding in stagnant water around their homes and businesses. Self-inspections should be done weekly.

For further information on how to control the Aedes aegypti mosquito, telephone the Vector Control Unit of the Environmental Health Division at 852-7782.
