His Excellency Governor Augustus J.U. Jaspert and UK Minister of State for the Overseas Territories, Lord Ahmad visited the BVI House London on November 27 to sign the condolence book for the late Hon. Ralph T. O’Neal, OBE Member Emeritus.

Governor Jaspert said that it was an honour to sign the book and pay his respects to Honourable O’Neal, OBE Member Emeritus. He noted that as the first Premier of the British Virgin Islands, he helped build the modern BVI and has left a lasting legacy for generations to come.

The Governor also used his time away on official business to meet with the teams at BVI House London who work with the UK to support and promote the BVI’s growth and success.

Honouable Ralph T. O’Neal was the longest serving elected official in the history of the Virgin Islands and served in House of Assembly and Legislative Council for forty years. A state funeral is being planned for December 11 in his honour.

The BVI London Office was opened in 2002 and represents the interests of the Government and people of the British Virgin Islands in the United Kingdom and Europe. The office is based at BVI House and serves as headquarters for official visits to the region. It also offers support to British Virgin Islanders living and studying in the UK.
