HOLIDAY MESSAGE 2016 BY JUNIOR MINISTER FOR TOURISM
TERRITORIAL AT-LARGE REPRESENTATIVE
HON. ARCHIBALD CHRISTIAN

My fellow citizens, residents, friends and visitors, the 2016 Christmas and Holiday Season is again in full swing, as we celebrate the birth of our wonderful Savior, Jesus Christ.  This is a very joyous time of year, celebrated by millions around the world, including here in the Virgin Islands.

This is also a time to reflect on a year filled with accomplishments, challenges, gladness, and some sadness. Regardless of the circumstances and events of 2016, there is much to be thankful full for because we are still here in this beautiful place.  As we close out 2016 and look to 2017, let us continue to be hopeful and prayerful that the year ahead will be all that we desire, and that as a country we live in peace and harmony with each other.

My prayer is that Jehovah will continue to bless each and every one of us and bless these Virgin Islands.

During this Christmas Season, I pray that all of us will dedicate our lives to the service of mankind by being our brother’s keeper.

Let me take this opportunity to encourage all of us to be kind and respectful to each other, especially during this season and beyond.

On behalf of my wife Euriniece and our two daughters, may the gifts of love, peace, and happiness be yours this Christmas Season and may you have a most prosperous and healthy New Year.

Let me also extend these greetings to the Premier, Dr. Hon. D. Orlando Smith and his family, the Leader of the Opposition, Hon. Julian Fraser and his family, the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Hon. Ingrid Moses-Scatliffe and her family, the Hon. Members of the House of Assembly and their families and all public servants and their families.  As Junior Minister for Tourism, I also extend Seasons Greetings to the chairman, director, members, and staff of the BVI Tourist Board and look forward to a great working relationship in 2017.

Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year to all.
