Minister for Education, Youth Affairs and Sports, Honourable Sharie B. De Castro is currently away from the Territory on duty travel until November 20.

During the period November 9 – 11, Honourable de Castro will be attending the CXC Third Annual Ministerial Summit in Barbados; for the period November 11 – 16, she will be attending the 42nd UNESCO General Conference in Paris; and for the period November 16 – 19, she will be attending the First UKOTA Overseas Territories Youth Summit and the UK Youth Parliament in London. 

Junior Minister for Culture and Tourism, Honourable Luce Hodge-Smith will perform the functions of Minister for Education, Youth Affairs and Sports during Honourable de Castro’s absence. 

The appointment is in accordance with section 52 (2) of the Virgin Islands Constitution Order, 2007 where the Governor action in accordance with the advice of the Premier shall, by instrument under Public Seal appoint Ministers from among the elected members of the House of Assembly.
