Reigning Miss BVI, Ms. Jaynene Jno-Lewis was congratulated yesterday on an outstanding performance at the Miss Universe Pageant 2015 held in Doral, Florida.

Minister of Education Honourable Myron Walwyn met with the Ms Jno Lewis and congratulated her of behalf of the Government.

Ms. Jno-Lewis in a meeting with Minister Walywn spoke of her experiences and the knowledge gained as she competed with pageant queens from over 80 countries worldwide for the prestigious title of Miss Universe. She also expressed gratitude for the opportunity to represent the Territory at the Miss Universe pageant adding that she was very humbled and honoured throughout the entire experience.

Jno-Lewis said she made numerous connections while attending the Pageant and that she was blessed to have had her own Glam Squad – stylist Germaine of One Stop Mall and runway coach, Mr. Antonio Jeffers.

In discussions with Honourable Walwyn, the reigning Ms BVI said her plans for the future include continuing with her platform of Youth Empowerment. She said that she has been working very closely with the Rotary Club of Tortola and the Club has agreed to sponsor technological devices and other educational material towards some young persons in the community. She also expressed an interest in joining the Miss BVI Committee in an effort to assist future Miss BVI’s during their reigns.

Meanwhile, Minister of Education and Culture Honourable Myron Walwyn said he was excited when he saw Ms. Jno-Lewis representing the Virgin Islands on Entertainment Tonight (ET), CNN’s-Top 15 National Costume List where her national dress was displayed and the Orlando Sentinel’s-10 Unique Costumes of Miss Universe 2015.

The Minister said “I am very proud of Ms. Jno-Lewis’ performance at the Miss Universe Competition this year. She represented the Territory well with grace and poise. I am excited about her participation in upcoming pageants.”

Miss BVI, Jaynene Jno-Lewis is expected to participate in regional shows including Miss Carival 2015 to take place in St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Miss Jaycees 2015 in Antigua and Barbuda.
