The Miss BVI Pageant Committee, in consultation with the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sustainable Development and the Junior Minister of Tourism, announces that the Miss BVI Pageant will not be held in 2025.
The Virgin Islands Festivals and Fairs Committee is inviting the public to submit entries for the BVI Emancipation Festival’s 2025 theme and slogan competitions.
The public is notified that Shoreway Drive and Parker Road in the vicinity of the R G Hodge Parking Lot to iSmart will close temporarily from Thursday, December 5 at 6:00 p.m. to Sunday, December 8 at 2:00 a.m.
The BVI Tourist Board & Film Commission and the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force are urging the public to prioritize safety during the 70th Emancipation Festival Celebrations, especially during the Rise & Shine Tramps.

The Virgin Islands Emancipation Exhibition will be showcased at the Sir Olva Georges Plaza on Thursday, August 1.
Director of Culture, Dr. Katherine Smith said the exhibition will offer visitors an engaging experience that delves into the profound meaning of the VI freedom today, and the historical experiences from which its ancestors were emancipated.
The Department of Culture will be holding a torchlight procession from the Noel Lloyd Positive Action Movement Park to mark the beginning of the 70th Anniversary of the Territory’s Emancipation Festival and 190 years of emancipation activities.
