The Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth Affairs, Fisheries and Agriculture’s Examinations Unit  has a webpage for all matters related to regional and international examinations.

Education Officer in Examinations, Ms. Tyrah Hodge, said that the role of the unit is to create and administer assessments that provides data for decision making in curriculum and instruction matters.

Ms. Hodge said, “We believe assessment is central to the learning process. Assessments start with clarity of purpose and should gather information to inform practice.”

Ms. Hodge stated that a schedule of upcoming examinations is available under the ‘Events’ section of the webpage for the months of April, May and June. She also added that persons wishing to sit the SAT are to register by May 5.

Other exams that fall in the month of June include Key Stage Assessment for Grades 2, 4 and 6; the Alternative Secondary Education Programme Examinations, and the Virgin Islands High School Certificate Programme Examinations.

The Education Officer in Examinations is inviting persons to visit the unit’s webpage at bvi.gov.vg/departments/examinations-unit and keep abreast of activities and scheduling of examinations.

The Examinations Unit assesses educational performance to certify individuals, uphold regional standards, and advance quality in assessment globally.
